Léandrès : a first Columbian approach

12/03/2018

The coffee shop/restaurant is owned by a French and Columbian couple that offers a varied homemade menu.

The interior is very modern and plants are scattered around. When I was there, a very pleasant chocolate scent was floating in the air.

Cake au chocolat banane (chocolate and banana cake) : classical, good, generous portion

Pony Malta : a columbian fizzy drink that visually resembles Coca Cola. Sweet, quite thick, tastes like maple syrup, honey and herbal medecine. It is the result of barley, hops and water fermentation.

Arepas jambon fromage guacamole (corn pancake with cheese, ham and guacamole) : the pancake is slightly sweet and starchy, cheese is ok, ham is good and the guacamole elevates the dish. It is super creamy and well seasoned.

Chorizo empanadas (chorizo stuffed baked pastries): the dough was slightly too thick for my taste and a little starchy but the filling was good.

Léandrès does not presents itself as a columbian restaurant, just as a nice place to eat homemade food for a very honest price. As I had never tasted columbian food I did appreciate the experience and will defintely come back !
