John viande : the restaurant with the looks of a bar

From afar you could believe the place is exclusively a bar : dime lights, cozy atmosphere and a grungy look. But don't be mistaken gourmet people like me come to this restaurant for good meat and fresh ingredients.
John viande is specialized in meat but they also have burgers and a concept of little dishes. I chose the latter. (listed by preference from - to +).
Brochette de gambas snackée à la planche et velouté de poivron (plancha grilled king prawns skewer and bell pepper velouté) : I was disappointed as the king prawns were just prawns, the taste was good and they were fresh. The velouté was very good, well seasoned, creamy and a first for me. It made me want to try to make one at home.
Ceviche de noix de Saint-Jacques au poivre de tchuli (Scallop ceviche with tchuli pepper) : pity that the ceviche marinade masked the flavour of the scallops. I really love the taste of raw scallops as it is very subtle. So I personnally think that a scallop ceviche is not the best idea because the acid sauce takes over the taste. I am being difficult because it has a very nice lemony taste, fresh and a nice tender texture.
Tataki d'onglet de boeuf mariné à la sauce soja et au mirin (prime cut of beef tataki marinated in soy sauce and mirin) : the meat was raw and juicy in the middle which gave it a nice chewy texture. The sauce was very good, sweet and salty with a powerful taste. My personal favourite of all the dishes.
Tartare (tartar) : knife cut beef, the had a nice texture, it was very fresh. It came with salad and vinegar sauce. Well balanced. I order as side dish the sweet potato : very soft, slightly sweet served with a cream herbs sauce which balanced the tastes. I was happy to find a whole steamed sweet potato because in Paris they usually have only sweet potate french fries.
In the end it was a pleasant experience, my stomach felt quite full and I was happy with my food. The service is nice but if I had to pinpoint one thing is that the music was a little bit too loud, but afterall we are in bar !
