La Meringaie : the queen of meringue desserts

The small boutique situated near the famous “Bon Marché” store magnifies meringues in all of their creations. Inspired by the Pavlova dessert, the pastry house focuses on a product, creating different versions according to the seasons.
The boutique is very bright and we discover with pleasure fruity and creamy desserts on a carpet of meringue. We can see the bakers garnishing the meringues, it is quite nice as the client feels included in the fabrication process and it makes him want to taste them.
The sellers are always nice and attentionate. While admiring the desserts, they did not hesitate to explain all the choices even if all the information were already listed on labels.
If I had to pinpoint a drawback for the boutique I would be the lack of space to eat the pastries in the shop (but it is almost always the case in pastry shops in Paris) and the choice of white for the interior. In fact, the white meringue on white does not stand out enough !
Le Zélie : orange zest whipped cream, orange, mango and passion fruit. The association worked well, it’s fresh, it’s exotic and acidulated.
L’Anatolie : pistacchio cream, cherry and pear. Personally It was my favourite because the sweetness of pear went perfectly with the strong scent of the cherry. The touch of pistacchio was very delightful.
The advantage of this product is that is less expensive than the pastries of its competitors, but for a meringue it not cheap. It is still a reasonable price for a dessert.
In the end if I had to resume my impression of the pastry it would be freshness and lightness. I do not feel guilty to have eaten two desserts in a flash !
