Loiseau Rive Gauche : a very French star that shines brightly

With a Michelin star obtained in 2018, the restaurant is a jewel of the french gastronomy. It welcomes you in a simple and elegant decoration.

I booked a "Menu Ephémère" only served at lunch. The plates are fixed but are constantly renewed. They give you the menu in order to verify allergies and food preferences.

Entrée 1 beetroot brochettes : the plating and the earthy beetroot taste takes you for a walk in the woods.

Entrée 2 asparagus with garlic and herbs sauce, salad, herbs and a quail egg yolk : the asparagus was very firm, the aroma of the sauce is very pleasant and the egg yolk gives a creamy vibe to the sauce. Very fresh.

Entrée 3 Eel cream on toast with fish eggs : the bread is crunchy and the fishy aroma is very present but not too strong, can be a little greasy but its little size makes it so easy to swallow in a bite.

Main dish Bourgogne beef, foie gras, red wine sauce, mushroom sauce, onions : the beef has a very nice soft texture and rich dark sauce. The foie gras is good but weighs it down. The cream is the flavorfull and is in continuity with the forest concept. Accompanied with potato croquettes.

At this point the waiters offers you a selection of cheeses (not included in the menu), if you are curious I recommend you to try some.

Dessert 1 yoghurt ice cream, meringue and white chocolate : there is a nice distinctive taste of fermented fresh milk, slightly sweetened by the chocolate and with a touch of crispiness added by the meringue.

Dessert 2 chocolate lollipops, marshmallow and candied ginger. A nice touch to finish the lunch.

It was a interesting menu with different textures, various ingredients and a woody concept.

A very creative and modern way to see french cuisine and a very good place to experience the taste of the country.
