Marzo : the pizza runway

The tables are marbled, the decoration very white and the restaurant gives off an elegant vibe in softened lights. In the back of the room, we can see a big pizza oven with an Italian pizzaiolo that executes one order after another.

The restaurant is full, and it feels just like Italy with its typical scents, the brouhaha of the restaurant and the pizzaiolo making pizzas.

The entire menu is very appetizing but I go for the appetizer that I think is a must eat in Italy : vongole alla padella (stir fried clams).

The portion is not huge compared to the price but it will do. The shells are cooked in olive oil, chili, parsley and garlic. Ingredients that can only be good, the result is a good appetizer that reminds me of Italy.

For the dish the pizza is mandatory ! And to test something new I go for the asparagus pizza, with speck and cheese. The ham is good and the asparagus is quite an original ingredient in a pizza but taste wise I don’t think it brings much to the dish. The pizza dough is quite soft and thick which reminds me of Napoli’s pizzas. Everything is generous and good.

The Pizza Pericolosa (tomato sauce, fior di latte, N’Duja (spicy saucisson) and red onions) : it’s quite funny to find american influences in this pizza with a slightly spicy sauce and onions. It is not that spicy and the dough is a bit wet due to the ingredients but it is good.

In the end, I do find Italian touches, but the dough is not very elastic, it is not as good as in Italy and the pizza ingredients are less generous. It was good but I think that I would have preferred the more classical pizzas ;)

I liked less the service (a waitress in particular if I have to point fingers), that I found a little cold and a little too overwhelmed but I loved seeing the real pizzaiolo working et thank me with a big smile when I said it was good. One thing is for sure, there were a lot of takeaway orders during the service which is a good sign.
